How to create an invoice

    Add your details

    Type your business name and address in “From”, and add your logo. Save them under “My business” and they are filled in on every new invoice.

    Add your client

    Enter who you are billing in “Bill To”. Add a shipping address only if you are sending goods.

    List what you did or sold

    Add a line for each product or service with the quantity and rate. Amounts, subtotal and total update as you type.

    Set dates and terms

    Choose payment terms like Net 30 and the due date is worked out for you. Add tax, a discount or shipping if needed.

    Download or share

    Click Download PDF and send it to your client. The invoice is saved in your history so you can reopen, duplicate or mark it paid later.

Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. You can create and download as many invoices as you like, with no watermark, no trial and no account. There are no paid plans hiding the useful features.

Do I need to sign up or log in?

No. Open the page and start typing. Your invoices, business details and settings are saved automatically in your browser so they are there the next time you visit on the same device.

Where is my invoice data stored?

Only in your browser’s local storage on your own device. Nothing you type is sent to our servers. That also means clearing your browser data removes your invoices, so use “Backup & data” in the sidebar to download a copy.

Can I use my own currency and tax rate?

Yes. Pick any currency from the sidebar; it is detected from your browser at first. Add tax as a percentage or a flat amount and rename it to VAT, GST, sales tax or anything else.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Click “Add your logo” on the invoice or drop an image onto it. PNG, JPG, SVG and WebP all work. Your first logo is remembered for future invoices.

How do I number my invoices?

Each new invoice continues from your last one, so INV-0009 is followed by INV-0010. You can type any number or format you like. Invoice numbers should be unique and never reused.

Can I send the invoice to my client?

Download the PDF and attach it to an email, or on mobile use the Share button to send it through any app on your phone. Your client does not need an account to open it.

What should an invoice include?

Your business name and contact details, your client’s details, a unique invoice number, the invoice date and due date, a list of products or services with prices, any tax, the total due, and how to pay you.
